St, Midtown, Sacramento, CA - Phone Number. I am going to post a review for all of those who don't. I came here for the first time a few weeks ago since I was in between employers and did not have any insurance.
I like to keep up to date on my testing because we should all know our status. I made an appt very easily over the phone, was asked basic questions when I checked in, and was seen shortly after. I met with Tasha not sure if I spelled her name right but she was an absolute sweet heart.
They have much more caring staff than Kaiser where I came from. I did have to wait a little bit in between tests but it was okay. My ONLY GRIPE with this place was that someone else was exposed to HIV and instead of pulling them into another room or something well more practice or caring and breaking the news, they did it right there in the waiting room. That I was mortified at. So I take one star off for that when it should be more. But the program and staff are great so I cant complain.
I will definantly be donating to them yearly. Mixed feelings. Dental dept is oustanding! Brownstone is excellent dentist. I needed $8,0. 00 of dental work. Brownstone gave me accurate diagnosis and realized I absolutely DID NOTneed that improper, invasive dental treatment which 3 other dentists falsely alleged. I required. Very impressed with entire dental clinic staff - hygenists, clerical support workers anddental technicians are outstanding. Primary Care is .

Asher spends qualitytime with patients despite being overworked. Due to lack of M. D.'s on staff, I waited 6 weeks for an appointment for an annual wellness exam. She adamantly refused to address my hypertension, chronic degenerative disc disease, raging ear infection. That is two felony violiations of medical ethics. Brownstone! Primary care you will receive at this clinic is .
When I asked for a couple simple referral requests, they never process these requests for 2 weeks. One of the request was a medical concern and needed to be taken care of ASAP.
I have been calling them several times and always goes straight to their answering machines. I couldn't even get to talk to a live person to have these referrals going.
It was very stressful; I am very worry about my medical issue. CARES is a joke. I've been going there for years and DESPISE it.
I call for refills and they tell me that their protocol allows providers 5 business days to respond to refill request. No one at CARES wants to accept my calls. CARES is only about retaining there federal funds. This place needs a complete overhaul starting from the top. Great service to the community. Frienly and knowledgeable staff.
I wish there were more centers like this around the country. I have grown to really love this place!
Everyone is extremely nice and always willing to lend you a helping hand! Pablo, the nurse practitioner, is really friendly and so knowledgeable about every disease state. If you're looking to switch doctors I HIGHLY recommend giving him a try! You can really talk to him about anything and everything! Lawrence, a medical assistant, is also great at what he does! Always smiling and jolly! No one here is judgmental and, although CARES was originally intended to serve as an HIV clinic, it has slowly evolved into a place where all are welcome!
It is also a place where they can schedule/reschedule appointments, lookup past lab results, and look up medication lists. Overall, this place is great and I recommend it to anyone whose unhappy with their current doctor. Medi- cal members. I am glad Cares has open their doors to non AIDS/HIV Clients but....... CONYou' will mostly be assign to a nurse practitioner and not a doctor, if you need a referral for specialist or Xray,MRI,EMG etc expect some problems. The client center has diminished.
I'd like to see this organization stay true to their original purpose. Come back cares,I used to love you. This place has always been a beacon of hope and care. My UC Davis doctors have always encouraged me to advocate for myself. CARES can help with housing, food, substance abuse, and certainly mental health. Excellent staff and no judgement for newbies who just want some free goods and a clearance test. Any how, they also have a tele- nurse who can help provide diagnosis and general counseling if you're anxious about trying out a new clinic.
I think everyone should check them out if you don't already have a primary care doctor who you trust. I went here for help when I didn't have insurance and they didn't charge me for the visit or the tests, I only had to pay for my prescription. I had Toxic Shock Syndrome and was super embarrassed walking in but the staff was SO friendly and kind and put me at ease. My doctor, Rachel, was so helpful that I went back today (I have insurance now) to have my IUD removed and had another fantastic experience.
Both times I was able to make an appointment within a few days and was seen on time with no long waits.
